Welcome

Gayle Bailey Golike teaches yoga as a way to practice being connected with our greatest self, or Spirit.  For Gayle this means being able to draw upon our Spirits’ joy, love, and strength through out our life no matter what is going on.  In a yoga class with Gayle we connect to Spirit through breath and awareness, and then we practice maintaining that connection as we safely leave our comfort zone and purposefully come into what challenges us physically and mentally using yoga postures and breathing techniques.  Gayle sees yoga as lab work.  It’s a way to simulate real life feelings (competition, fear, judgment, pride, frustration, self-criticism, accomplishment) and be aware of our conditioned responses to them.

The strength, power, endurance, resilience, and delight we find in ourselves while practicing yoga this way is life changing.  We gain experiential knowledge of how to breathe through difficulties, how to observe our feelings vs. instantly reacting to them, and most importantly how to find a constant source of joy that is with in us always.

Gayle is also known for her knowledge of anatomy, physical alignment, and asana (yoga posture) sequencing.  She is described as having an uncanny ability to intuitively understand what her students need to hear in guiding them past what they think they are capable of to find their true potential. The most common remark after Gayle’s class is, “I never thought I could do that!”

She lives in a historic home by the Ohio River with her husband, three sons, and a sweet blonde lab named Sissy in the small and quiet midwestern city of Evansville, IN.
